Artists Needed:

Spring 2016 - Troy Historic Village

Art Focused Programs at the Troy Hisotric Village

This summer, the Troy Historic Village will feature a number of art-focused programs:

· Our Artisan Arts series features local artists instructing in a variety of media—blacksmithing, coppersmithing, pressed floral artistry, painting, papercrafting and more. Artisan Arts classes are offered at different times throughout the spring, summer and fall. Some classes are series, others are one-and-done.

· Art, Mix & Mingle will take place on Thursday June 16 from 5:30 – 8:00 pm at the Troy Historic Village. This 2nd-year event will feature the work of local artists on display inside of our historic buildings, wine and hors d’oeuvres. New this year: you may sell your artwork! Stay tuned for more event details, registration information and ticket information.

· Rather than displaying art for just one evening, we are extending “Art, Mix & Mingle (and Linger!)” to Friday 6/17 and Saturday 6/18 after the event. In addition to viewing artwork on display in historic buildings—“Amble Through the Art”, working title—visitors may also participate in or view demonstrations by artists from 10:00am – 8:00pm Friday and 10:00am – 2:00pm Saturday.

We are looking for artists who would like to do a demonstration or a brief hands-on class for visitors at the Village on Friday June 17 and/or Saturday June 18. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested and I will send more information. If you are scheduled to teach a class at the Village this summer or fall (or would like to do so—let me know!), I would encourage you to consider doing a demonstration or teaching a mini-workshop on at least one of these days. We would also welcome artists during our Thursday evening hours this summer (“Throwback Thursdays”) from 4 – 8 pm. Thursdays have decade themes: June = 1800s, July = 1920s and August = 1960s.

I look forward to hearing from you!
