The melodrama format encourages audience participation with a lot of "booing and hissing" the bad guys and cheering for the good guys. The characters have names like  Nellie Lovelace and Munro Murgatroyd. This should be a great event for the whole family as well as an opportunity to meet with other people interested in promoting the arts in Troy.

South Oakland Art Asso
Next Meeting - Monday May 3rd   7: 30 pm

We've recently developed an affiliate relationship with the South Oakland Art Association. The organization is 50 years old and holds monthly meetings in Royal Oak on the first Monday of each month, usually in the evening at 7:30 pm.

The meetings generally have between 30 and 50 attendees. They've had some excellent speakers and also offer a monthly art competition. I believe the dues is approximately $20 per year.

This is another way for artists to network in Oakland County. A copy of their most recent newsletter is at the link above.

  Troy Artist Evening "Get Together"

We want to set up an informal evening meeting for I/ACT participants and Troy Artists. We would probably meet at around 7pm on a weekday. The location could be a local restaurant, coffee shop or someone's house. The meeting would last 60 to 90 minutes.

The purpose would be for networking, sharing exhibit opportunities etc. There would also be some brainstorming about how to bring about a Troy Artists Market / Studio space.
