The DIA's "Inside|Out" Program Comes to Troy


"Inside|Out" is sponsored by the Detroit Institute of Arts and brings high-quality reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA's collection to the streets and parks of metro Detroit. The Civic Center Complex and Troy Historic Village area will  be the home of Troy's  six artworks through September 30th.

Free DIA Admission:   Residents of each of the thirteen participating local communities will be eligible for free museum admission on a designated Family Sunday. Troy's Free Family Sunday at the DIA day is July 22nd.  The additional participating communities include : Canton, Clawson, Clinton Twp, Dearborn, Detroit, Ferndale, Garden City, Harrison Twp,  Northville, Royal Oak, Trenton and Waterford. 
Check the DIA Website for your city's date.

"A New Tone at Mackinac": Cultural Alliance Article
"A New Tone at Mackinac  - Pulling Together for Arts & Culture" was the topic of a recent email from the Executive Director of the Cultural Alliance of SE Michigan.  The article discusses the positive buzz about arts and culture at the Mackinac Conference where the leaders of SE Michigan's business and civic communities convene. 

The article also discusses the reasons the Cultural Alliance supports the Detroit Institute of Arts millage proposal. Link to the full article.
