Next I/ACT Meeting Date: Friday July 19th
The June 28th meeting was  re-scheduled to Friday  JULY 19th . We will also be at a new location for this month only:  Paint A Miracle in Rochester. We will tour their facilities and meet with Shelly Tyshka, the Executive Director.

Meeting Time:   1PM  with an optional lunch get together BEFORE the meeting at 11:30 AM (details below).

Paint A Miracle is an organization that helps people living with disabilities make art happen. It opened in 2002 and now maintains a studio and gallery in downtown Rochester. I/ACT member and Troy resident Cynthia Buchanan is on the organization's Board

Larry Zdeb Wins 2nd Place at BBAC / MFAC  
I/ACT artist Larry Zdeb won Second Place at the Michigan Fine Arts Competition which is now a multi-state contest and one of the most prestigious shows in Michigan. The award was accompanied by a generous cash prize of $2,000! 

The Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center show runs thru Fri Aug 23rd.
Larry with his prize wining artwork titled "Potpourri".  He also  received a nice write up in the July 15th Troy Somerset Gazette.

Lori Borraccio Morris will have her art on display at the Sterling Hts Library during the months of August and September. Opening reception will be on August 6th. (Lori designed the wonderful mural panels that for the 2012 Novi Home Show.)

Fine Art at the Village - August 3rd & 4th Art Fair 
Donna Beaubien's "Fine Art at the Village"  event will be held in early August.  Over 70 artists will be participating including several I/ACT members. Be sure to mark your calendar:

Art Explored" - Royal Oak Public Arts program in conjunction with the Arts, Beats & Eats Foundation. 


 Seeking works of art for outdoor display. Apply by : Aug 30th.

Works of art will be displayed from Oct 2013 to April 2014.

Troy Daze: Scarecrow Decorating Contest

A Scarecrow Decorating Contest will be part of this fall's Troy Daze events! Individuals, groups like families, friends,
church, youth, clubs organizations and businesses are welcome to fill out a form and submit their best creation

Cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded.

A 6' x 4' frame will be available for pickup from the N Woodward Community Foundation's office (1120 E Long Lake) after Aug 19th.
Entrants are responsible for delivery and pickup of their fully assembled scarecrow.


Cost:                    Refundable $20 fee due with the application
Enter by:              Friday, Sept 6th 3pm
Event Location:   Troy Daze Festival 3668 Livernois
                            (between Big Beaver & Wattles)
Dropoff Times:     Wed 9/11 by 6pm or Thurs 9/12 by 3pm 
Pickup Time:       Sun 9/15 between 5pm and 8pm.
