Amazon.com, Inc. recently announced the launch of Amazon Art , a marketplace that gives customers direct access to more than 40,000 works of fine art from over 150 galleries and dealers. Read more at Art In America.

Artsy.net is another website that connects galleries with collectors.

Interesting Auction: The Unknown Renoir

Through Heritage Auctions, a sale of personal effects including the marriage license and handwritten letters from the famous impressionist painter.  
Fine Art at the Village - Art Gallery 
Donna Beaubien's "Fine Art at the Village" August event was a huge success with extensive TV news coverage. New customers from all over metro Detroit drove to Rochester Hills to view the art fair and shop in the artists' co-op gallery.

Troy Daze: Scarecrow Decorating Contest

A Scarecrow Decorating Contest will be part of this fall's Troy Daze events! Individuals, groups like families, friends,
church, youth, clubs organizations and businesses are welcome to fill out a form and submit their best creation

Cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded.

A 6' x 4' frame will be available for pickup from the N Woodward Community Foundation's office (1120 E Long Lake) after Aug 19th.
Entrants are responsible for delivery and pickup of their fully assembled scarecrow.


Cost:                    Refundable $20 fee due with the application
Enter by:              Friday, Sept 6th 3pm

                            (between Big Beaver & Wattles)
Dropoff Times:     Wed 9/11 by 6pm or Thurs 9/12 by 3pm

Royal Oak Public Art + Art, Beats Eats Foundation    

Art Explored" - Royal Oak Public Arts program in conjunction with the Arts, Beats & Eats Foundation. 


 Seeking works of art for outdoor display. Apply by : Aug 30th.

Works of art will be displayed from Oct 2013 to April 2014.
