Note: I/ACT is withdrawing as a group from the Novi Home Show. There is still a chance for individual artists to participate. The deadline is Jan 31st  (see details below).

Friday's meeting. Meetings are free and open to anyone interested in arts and culture in Troy.  New attendees are encouraged to bring artwork samples.   
Belian Art Center/ Paint A Miracle: Sat Feb 8, 5-9pm 
"Reciprocity" is Paint A Miracle's first gallery exhibition and will be hosted at the Belian Art Center!  The exhibit was  just featured in a cover story by Terry Oparka for theTroy Times (link)

Paint A Miracle is a non-profit organization that helps people living with disabilities make art happen. It opened in 2002 and is located in downtown Rochester. I/ACT member and Troy resident Cynthia Buchanan is on the organization's Board. 

Themes include: "We Are All Connected", "Portraits in Blue", "Inner Child Collages" and "Rites of Passage". View the rich and varied creations of the Paint A Miracle artists.

Novi Home Show - Update!!          
I/ACT was going to do the show this year  if 25-30 artists expressed a desire to participate. Most unfortunately, only 10-12 artists responded. We are therefore withdrawing as a group from this year's show.

Having a Fine Arts section as part of the spring Home and Garden Show was the dream of our wonderful contact person Rosalie Lamb. Even though I/ACT withdrew, she generously would like to offer any of you who still want to participate a booth at the show gratis. If you are interested in doing this on your own, please contact Rosalie by this Friday, January 31st and make arrangements with her. Please copy Linda Shears (linda@lindashears.com) on the email. After the Friday deadline the spaces being held for I/ACT will be sold to other vendors.

"Echoes of Future Past" that opens at the 822 Gallery in Royal Oak.

Linda Shears was interviewed by Amy Andrews from TV2 on Friday morning ( Jan 24th). Linda was co-chair for the ASID "Ask the Designer " booth as part of the Home Improvement Show at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Linda was interviewed LIVE and did a great job!

Antiques Roadshow
has three episodes that took place in Detroit and they started tonight on PBS!

Larry Zdeb's wife, Pat will be on the show with a painting that Larry found at a garage sale!  She is on the third episode which will be broadcast at 8pm on Monday, Feb 10th. Congratulations!!

St Joseph Mercy Hospital Art Project - Update           
Photography and art by I/ACT artists Pat Shaw and Patti Cooper Koerner were accepted for this project.  They have been invited to a donor reception for participating artists. The event is scheduled for April and will be held at the new patient tower. 
S Oakland Art Assoc -Mon Feb 3rd Meeting         
The next meeting for the S Oakland Art Association is February 3rd.  Mardi Chapman is their new newsletter editor.  Here is a link to their informative newsletter that is another resource for artists looking for networking and exhibit opportunities.
